Know Your Resume and LinkedIn

Ensure your info is up-to-date, accurate, and consistent. Problems arise when resume and LinkedIn profiles have different stories.

  • Use caution when listing advisory roles - ensure they do not overshadow operational roles

  • Note that most people review your LinkedIn profile before they review your resume. They may not wish to review the resume if the LinkedIn profile is not comprehensive and/or bland.

Be prepared to discuss ANYTHING listed on your resume or your LinkedIn profile. This includes:

  • Technical expertise, leadership, communication, scaling, hiring, strategic positioning (and more) are all fair game

  • Job transitions and the reasons behind them

  • Lessons learned and accomplishments

  • Details about a breach that your company may have gone through.
