Who We Are
At Hitch, we are maniacally focused on making our client partners delighted, and ensuring we have fun making all that magic happen. We are not your typical retained search firm so you will not find the typical corporate background bios here. That info can be found on our LinkedIn profiles. Here’s a bit about us you won't necessarily see on LinkedIn…
Jason is our overachieving data guru and resident vegan. We rely on him to articulate “Vegas Odds” as to the probability of all sorts of events happening in the future. He’ll do whatever it takes to make that wizardry happen for our clients through intelligent research, data analysis and leveraging information from our database (HitchBase) which he custom-built from the ground up. When Jason is not amazing us or making us laugh, he is planning his vegan meals, dominating the over 40 Vegas mens tennis circuit for players rated 3.0 or higher and harassing Michael to substitute his meat-eating ways to join the “plant-based revolution”.
Karen, the architect of “Team Colorado” focuses on candidate identification, development, and serves as our client's tour guide throughout the search process (basically she does everything as it relates to making said magic happen). Karen draws on her experience of having four children as well as being a part-time CrossFit instructor along with a professional career way too accomplished to be messing around with us. We’re just lucky she thinks partnering with us is a fun way to spend her time. Karen is the snarky adult in the room so we all do what she says .. or else .. Burpees .. LOTS OF BURPEES.
Jamie, the engine powering “Team Colorado” focuses on candidate identification and development somehow in between owning a CrossFit gym and taking care of two youngsters (three if you count her husband). With a background in Healthcare Informatics and Nursing, there’s nothing we challenge her with that phases her, although we wish she would stop talking to us like we’re children who just got their candy taken away on the playground. We love it when Jamie bosses Karen around (at the CrossFit gym). We find that it distracts Karen from bossing us around.
Donna was brought on to ensure the trains stay on track in Austin. That task has proved challenging, but turns out not as challenging as raising 4 awesome children, starting a Lacrosse league and competing hard core on the Peloton every morning. She is fearless, seamlessly manages challenging personalities (See Brett below), works circles around all challengers, and rarely seen without a smile on her face.
Amy is AKA the “Calendar Assassin” will annihilate any open slots you have available with precision accuracy. She’s a soccer-mom X3 where her amazing daughters all play at the highest competitive level which means her weekends (as well as many weekdays) can be filled with 6+ games in an endless amount of cities. Her oldest has started the first year at Air Force where she can jump out of planes for breakfast and then head over to soccer practice for lunch. Amy does nothing half-way. If you are fortunate enough to partner with her, it’s going to be done right (i.e. her way which is better than your way, trust us).
Kellie brings years of external and corporate recruiting wisdom to Hitch. Always with grace and poise, Kellie not only identifies top-notch talent, but she also works behind the scenes on marketing, operations, and provides daily sanity checks. She’s also the person you want to know if you’re looking to acquire some Hitch swag. In her spare time (and we’re not quite sure if she ever sleeps), Kellie is running at the crack of dawn, dominating a HIIT class (armed with her own personal battle ropes which are registered as lethal weapons), driving her daughters to multiple sporting events, and perfecting her morning matcha lattes.
Jesse is the team’s Bird Dog and heads up most all of our layer down search services focused on the Principal to VP levels. He and his wife live close to Disney in Orlando FL and have 3 children. They both train hard at the gym and actually welcome Burpee challenges (unlike other members of our team who shall remain nameless). Jesse has a super positive attitude (which balances out any excess snark emanating from the Rocky Mountain), is a voracious learner, finds strength in his faith and strives to live by these principals each day. He also enjoys reading, basketball, traveling and of course beach time with his children.
Peggy joined us from the legal space so we can assess exactly how much concern our behavior towards each other poses an existential (as well as a compliance) risk. To no one’s surprise, Peggy utilizes the word “inappropriate” with growing exponential frequency on our team calls. Peggy is the mom of 4 children as well (notice a theme here?) and we are constantly trying to convince her our kind of crazy is much more palatable than litigation between high power Silicon Valley blah blah blah. When you partner with Peggy, the work product will be in compliance.
Brett lives (literally) by the mantra of hire (beg) people smarter than you and get the heck out of their way so they can get some real work done … and has successfully achieved this goal at Hitch. When Brett’s not being told what to do by the Hitch team, you may find him failing to keep up with the youngsters at UMC Boot Camp or schlepping (i.e. think unpaid Uber driver) his kids to various activities and doing whatever his wife tells him to do. If you’ve met his wife, you’ll understand.
Michael AKA “the CISO whisperer”: No one works harder, talks more, or is as concerned with our CISO’s and client’s success. Michael has an extraordinary passion for people and security technology and the combination is electrifying. Michael’s success can be attributed to his compassionate approach to clients, candidates and team members alike. He’s an obedient husband, a caring dad, a below average fisherman and a “world class” meat smoker (his words not ours). Michael will do anything to avoid exercise and the associated physical pain so, of course, he is frequently bombarded with burpee challenges.
As you can see, the Hitch Team’s secret to success is chemistry. It’s something we hope to help our client-partners achieve with high impact hires.
The Hitch Partners Way:
Many of the Hitch Partners team grew up or spent time in the “DMV” area (MD/VA/DC ) admiring Cal Ripken Jr who “just showed up” again and again and again quietly DELIVERING at a world-class level. Not flashy, lots of pride in his work, a positive role model with great values who did amazing things for fans both on and off the field. This type of consistent excellence is what the Hitch Team aspires to DELIVER.

Charrese is our Talent Acquisition Advisor, we call her that because the other choice was Annoying Person Who Insists We All Speak The Queen’s English, which is just way too long. Charrese has years of corporate recruiting under her royal cloak and can share that perspective with us when we need a sanity check. She’s also US Army Vet so we thank her for her service and appreciate the unique perspective she brings. When she is not grammar-checking us, Charrese can be found either halfway across the globe or paddling madly on a river or lake somewhere.
